Paw Prints

It’s leftover season! The best time of year according to your pups and kitties! Thanksgiving and Christmas are around the corner and your fur babies would love to participate in all the deliciousness!

But Watch Out! With all the yummy food available, we must be aware of the dangerous nibbles they can get into. Steer clear of turkey bones, gravy, chocolate, spicy and salty foods.

Opt for these healthy safe treats instead:

Roasted Turkey Bites

Blend 6-oz. of cooked turkey breast and 1/2-cup cooked carrots until smooth. Mix with 1/2-cup of quinoa or oatmeal. Roll into small balls and bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.

Creamy Pumpkin Smoothie

Blend 1/2 cup of canned pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling) with 1/2 cup of plain non-fat yogurt. Pour into little cups and serve right away or freeze to make yummy sorbet overnight.

Scrumptious Hor d’oeuvres

Mash 1/4-can of tuna, 3-4 small pieces of turkey meat, 1 teaspoon of pumpkin puree in a bowl. Scoop out with a teaspoon and arrange into small shapes on a tray. Sprinkle with dried catnip leaves and serve!
