The First Presbyterian Union Church is delighted to announce that after a long and extensive search, God has answered their prayers for a new pastor. The Rev. Bruce Gillette will begin serving on Dec. 2, along with his wife, Carolyn Gillette, who will be serving as a Parish Associate. 

In every place where Rev. Bruce Gillette has served, he has enjoyed being involved in the community. Rev. Gillette received a Master’s of Divinity Degree with a concentration in Christian Education, as well as a Master’s Degree in Theology both from Princeton Seminary. He brings his kindness along with a deep knowledge of the Bible, to help shepherd the church into the 21st century.

Together, Rev. Bruce and Rev. Carolyn Gillette wrote the church guide, “Active Parenting Now,” teaching family ministries for regional and national conferences in the Presbyterian Church, USA. He has served as a Presbyterian pastor in Sussex, N.J., and as co-pastor with wife Carolyn in Wilmington, Delaware and Philadelphia, Pa. 

Rev. Carolyn Gillette is a well-known hymn writer, now having written over 400 hymns.
All are welcome to worship with them on Dec. 2, at 10 a.m. when Rev. Gillette begins his service at First Presbyterian Union Church, located at the corner of North Avenue and Temple Street in Owego.
