Business owners in the Gateway Building, located at 200-204 Front St. in Owego, will host a ribbon cutting on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. An open house will follow until noon.
Three businesses have opened in the new building. Realty Solutions Group, owned by Jeri Sarrge, relocated to the Gateway in October. Hygge Home, a boutique shop specializing in the Danish concept, “the art of cozy,” is a new business in the village owned by Mandy Neira. Simple Form Pilates is a new Pilates studio offering private and group classes owned by Kathryn Thole.
The Gateway Building will house the Tioga Visitor Center operated by Tioga County Tourism that opens in the next few weeks. Visitors can see the space and enjoy the stunning river view.
“It’s a gorgeous building and we are very excited to share the first floor with our new neighbors,” said Rebecca Maffei, director of Tioga County Tourism.
The ribbon cutting will take place at 10 a.m. with Tioga County Tourism staff, the business owners, and with the support of the Tioga County Chamber of Commerce. Simple For Pilates will have a tasting of Dram Apothecary Bitters, Hygge Home will have Danish cookies to sample, Realty Solutions Group will have a local gift basket that visitors can enter to win, and everyone is welcome see the new building and learn more about the businesses from the owners. Tioga County Tourism will have refreshments.
Nov. 10 is also Holiday Showcase in Owego from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Presented by Historic Owego Marketplace, this annual event has become the premiere shopping and dining day for Owego Merchants. Adults and children will enjoy a variety of exciting activities taking place throughout downtown Owego.
