Have you considered becoming a substitute teacher? A workshop, planned for Nov. 7 in Vestal, will outline the steps to take to become a substitute in one of the local school districts.
In order to substitute you DO NOT have to be a certified teacher, but you do have to have at least 60 college credits. Most districts require a four-year college degree.
A resource manual will be given to each attendee outlining some teaching techniques and classroom management strategies.
The workshop will take place on Nov. 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Teacher Center of Broome County, WSKG Studios, 601 Gates Rd. in Vestal.
Call the Teacher Center at 763-3282 to register if you are interested in attending.
