OCTOBER 28

American Legion Sunday Breakfast, 8 to 11:30 a.m., Front Street, Owego. Made to order specials, ages under five are free.

Trunk or Treat, 1 to 3 p.m., Campville Fire Department Station 1, 6153 State Route 17C. 

Pork Chop BBQ, pick up dinners between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., Candor EMS Garage, Candor. Cost is $10 per dinner and includes salt potatoes, baked beans, roll and cookie. 

Waterman Center Halloween Carnival Fundraiser, 1 to 3 p.m., 403 Hilton Rd., Apalachin. Free games, Trick or Treat Trail Hike, gourd painting, costume contest, food available for purchase and more. The cost is a $5 donation and ages under five are free. Call 625-2221 for details. 

OCTOBER 29

Boy Scout Troop 36 Trunk or Treat, 6 to 7 p.m., Tioga Central Middle School back parking lot.

A Special Meeting of the Owego Village Board will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hubbard Auditorium of the County Office Building located at 56 Main St. in Owego. The rezoning of the parcel on Southside Drive will be discussed and open for public comment.  

 OCTOBER 31

Halloween Candy Check and Treats, 6 to 8 p.m., Croton Hose Co. #3 Fire Station, 8 Talcott St., Owego. Cider, donuts, hot coffee and hot cocoa provided with fire and law enforcement personnel checking candy.

Trunk or Treat, 5:30 to 7 p.m., Vestal Center United Methodist Church, 478 West Hill Rd., Vestal. 

Outdoor Halloween Fest, 6 to 8 p.m., Sayre Christian Church, 427 S. Keystone Ave., Sayre. All are welcome! 

Mobile Food Pantry Food Distribution, noon, St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church parking lot, 110 Pennsylvania Ave., Apalachin. Bring bags or boxes. For questions, call 796-6061. Owego Apalachin Family Reading partnership will be distributing free children’s books.

NOVEMBER 1

The Apalachin Lions Club will be hosting its 52nd Annual Senior Citizen dinner at Donoli’s Restaurant Banquet Room on Route 434, Apalachin from 5:30 to 8 p.m. This year they are again limiting invitations to residents of the Apalachin and Little Meadows communities. These are the areas where the Lions Club solicits its funds to serve the local community. If you are a senior citizen in Apalachin or Little Meadows and would like to attend, call Lion Donald Castellucci Jr. at (607) 687-0965. The event includes a traditional Thanksgiving meal and entertainment.
