The Candor Fire Company Auxiliary and Unit 907 American Legion Auxiliary were host to a joint kiddy Halloween party on Saturday, and at the Candor Fire Department, located at 74 Owego Rd.
The event was offered free for Candor resident children, ages up to 12 years old, and there were a lot of crafts and a costume parade that offered prizes in each category.
Costumes were creative and unique this year, with Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, complete with a basket and Toto, a real dog with quite a resemblance; as well as plenty of unicorns, ninjas, and more.
Walking in towards the latter part of the party was a family dressed up as Ghostbusters, from the 1984 American supernatural comedy film.
Each costume, however, was filled with creativity. There was a child dressed as “Chucky”, several warriors, and a young princess.
Activities included crafts like pumpkin decorating,
a nun that set up a bobbing for donuts activity, and a small-scale display of soapbox derby cars.
Those that attended had a fun time, and each child left with a pumpkin, designed crafts, and a special goodie bag containing a few treats.
