Deadline is approaching for ‘Dancing’ themed art contest

The Tioga Arts Council, in partnership with Tioga United Way, will be hosting an art competition for artists and creative’s of all ages in Tioga County. The theme is “Dancing,” and the winner will receive a $100 prize and be featured on the cover of this year’s Dancing United with the Starz program, an event planned for Saturday, Dec. 1 that is a fundraiser for Tioga United Way.

Their vision is to inspire and support a vibrant, creative community in and around Tioga County. Participants must be a resident of Tioga County, N.Y. and it must be original artwork. 

All artwork submissions must be based on the theme, dancing. Creatives of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate. Each participant can submit up to two pieces of artwork to this competition. All artwork must be submitted in digital format as a .jpg or .png file. Artwork must be at 1,500 – 2,400 pixels to ensure they can print out your artwork at full size and resolution.

All submissions must be suitable for all audiences and must be emailed to tiogaartscouncil@gmail.com by 4 p.m. on Oct. 20. 

The email subject should read: [Last Name] Art Contest Dancing United with the Stars, and the body of the email must include the following information: First and Last Name, Mailing Address, Phone Number, and title of work and medium. 

Do NOT send the original artwork, as these entries will NOT be returned.

Once the contest closes, the Dancing United with the Starz committee will review the artwork and select this year’s winner. The winner will be announced on Nov. 1.
