Tioga County declares State of Emergency

Tioga County Legislative Deputy Chair Dale Weston has declared a State of Emergency effective at 6 a.m. Sept. 18, 2018 for Tioga County due to flash flooding.

Tioga County Director of Emergency Services Michael Simmons and Tioga County Sheriff Gary W. Howard advise no unnecessary travel throughout the County due to water over the roadways.

Some State, County and local roads are closed at this time due to water and debris in the roadways. County roads are restricted to emergency vehicles only per State of Emergency Order.

  1. Why the hell did Owego take put the children’s lives at risk just to prove that they could. That’s totally foolish. Parents have enough to worry about when this happens they don’t need this on their plates to. Shame on Owego school district.
