Nichols Old Home Day taking place on Monday

On Monday, Sept. 3, the Roki Community Club will bring the community together for the 107th annual Nichols Old Home Day event, located in Nichols, N.Y.

The event will open at 9 a.m. at Kirby Park, with a parade through the village of Nichols taking place at 10:01 a.m.

At around 11 a.m., at Kirby Park, a flag raising will take place followed by the Star Spangled Banner, played by the Kirby Band. Sandy Thomas will offer the Invocation.

The Kirby Band will provide a concert at Kirby Park at 11:15 a.m., with other activities taking place between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Activities include games, face painting, a bounce house and slide, glitter tattoos, craft vendors, community agency and organization participation, food vendors, the Nichols Fire Department Chicken BBQ, an American Legion concession stand, pony rides, that antique children’s train ride, 50/50 raffles sold by the Lions Club, and much more.

New this year is a $3 bracelet that will allow guests to play games and ride the train all day. AC, from Double D entertainment, will be providing music and announcing throughout the day.
