Depot Series continues with Triton Trio on Friday

The Depot Friday Night Series continues on Aug. 3 with Triton Trio, composed of longtime favorites of the Depot, Tom and Marie Quigley along with Rob Seigers.

The Triton Trio brings a Bluegrass style of music with cover tunes from the 60s and 70s, a few gems from the 20s and 30s, plus a smattering of folk and traditional bluegrass.

Aug. 10 will bring the return of the very popular Casey Max and the DixieKats, playing a variety of traditional New Orleans Style Jazz, Dixieland, Mardi Gras and good time listening music. The DixieKats play music made famous by Louie Armstrong, Pete Fountain, King Oliver, the Neville Brothers and others.

Rick Pedro returns to the Depot on Aug. 17, bringing an infectious blend of ragtime barnburners and Dixieland Jazz, as well as contemporary mix of Elton John, Billie Joel and even Pink. In concert, Rick comes alive with soulful harmonies mixed with patriotic standards that will set your feet tapping.

The Depot in Newark Valley is located on Depot Street and the doors open on Friday evenings at 6 p.m., with entertainment beginning at 7 p.m. Admission is free and refreshments are available. Weather permitting the musical programs will be outside so bring a lawn chair.

You can call the Newark Valley Historical Society office at (607) 642-9516 for more information.

The Depot Series is sponsored by the Newark Valley Historical Society.
