A celebration of life will be held in honor of Eva M. Wade from noon until 4 p.m. on July 15 at Round Top Park Pavilion No. 9. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided, and friends of Wade are welcome to bring a covered dish along with many fun memories to share.

The Center for Coastal Studies piqued Wade’s interest in whale watching, and she loved going on watches with fellow enthusiasts. She supported PBS public television stations and was an active member of WSKG and WVIA for many years.

Wade loved photography and spent many hours putting photo albums together for her friends and Celtic music was a large part of her life. She also always knew when to give a hug.

Friends and family are welcome as Wade was a lifetime resident of the Valley who graduated from Sayre High School prior to attending Mansfield University. Following graduation, Wade taught science for the Towanda school district for 30-plus years.

Directions to the Athens Township park: From Route 220 at Greens Landing, turn west onto Wolcott Hollow Road at the Dandy Mini Mart. After a half-mile, turn right onto Round Top Road and go about 1 mile to the stop sign. Turn right again and continue on Round Top Road to the park. There are small blue signs pointing the way.
