The Tioga County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the Leadership Tioga Program has reached a milestone this year, celebrating 20 years of developing leaders for the community. The program began in 1998 and to date, over 300 people have received certificates of completion.
To celebrate, Leadership Tioga and the Tioga Chamber invites anyone who has been involved with the program (alumni, speakers, businesses, etc.) and anyone interested in the program to a party and reunion on Thursday, July 26 at 5:30 p.m. The event will be hosted at Turkey Trot Acres, 188 Tubbs Hill Rd. in Candor. The cost to attend the party is $25. There will be great food including Turkey Trots’ wood fired pizza, music, mingling, and a lot of reminiscing.
Martha Sauerbrey, chair of the Tioga County Legislature and original Leadership Tioga Advisory Board member, stated, “Leadership Tioga has been a powerful and effective program that has developed many leaders over the past 20 years. Our graduates have developed strong leadership skills and are willing to give their time and talents to their communities and places of business. Confident and knowledgeable leaders are critical for a successful community. When we started this program, I had no idea how successful it would be or that I would meet so many talented and dynamic people! It has been both a humbling and exciting experience being part of Leadership Tioga. I look forward to Leadership Tioga continuing for many years to come.”
The Leadership Tioga Advisory Board would like to see a great turn out from the graduating classes, speakers and community members. They want to know who and what you remember. Where has your journey taken you? For prospective attendees, we’d like to find out what you might like to learn about and answer any questions you may have. The program has 2 decades under its belt and remains a vital source of information for developing leaders within Tioga County.
