Depot Friday Night series continues with Rich Wilson on Friday

The Depot Friday Night series continues on June 22 as they welcome back Rich Wilson with a program of music made popular by Sinatra, Dino and Tony Bennett, and a few Country classics popularized by such greats as Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell and others.

Rich’s professional appearance and smooth vocals will have you believing you are at a nightclub in Vegas. Rich was elected to the New York State Country Hall of Fame in 2015 and he has the unique ability to successfully blend the enduring sound of Country with the classic sound jazz and rock.

The Horseshoe Lounge Playboys with Randy Miritello return to the Depot on July 29 for a concert of acoustic backwoods and Americana rocking roots music. The Playboys is a four-piece band and performs mostly original and traditional material that some call Hillbilly dance music. With Randy on guitar, Will Lund on mandolin, Tom Wilmore on bass, Darin Trass on fiddle and all on vocals, the Horseshoe Lounge Playboys is a high-energy band and they are always excited to welcome them to the Depot.

On July 6, The Depot welcomes the return of Bruce Detrick and his Little Big Band for an evening of easy listening to the Swing Era music. The Little Big Band will take you back to a time when the music of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Benny Goodman came to you from your radio and the Lindy Hop and the Jitterbug ruled the dance floors. Bruce’s band has performed throughout the Northeast and their repertoire is extensive, versatile and second to none.

The Depot in Newark Valley is located on Depot Street and the doors open on Friday evenings at 6 p.m., with entertainment beginning at 7 p.m. Refreshments are available.

The Depot Series is sponsored by the Newark Valley Historical Society. Visit nvhistory.org to learn more.
