For the tenth year, the Tioga Central School District competed as a school in the Broome-Tioga Special Olympics Spring Games. There were 25 athletes from the elementary, middle, and high school competing this year.

According to the school, the event drew an overwhelming amount of support from the parents and families, and had a good turnout from faculty members who volunteered their time to help out at the event, and support the athletes as well.

The athletes were very proud of their accomplishments, and it was very rewarding to watch them compete.

Sarah Conden stated, “They all have individual strengths and it is nice to see them shine.”

There are currently 12 community-based clubs and nine school-based clubs. The Broome-Tioga Special Olympics is run entirely by volunteers.
