Treat mom to a day at the zoo!

Looking for a fun way to celebrate your mom on Mother’s Day? How about a visit to the zoo? All mothers will receive free admission on Sunday, May 13.

If you’re looking for a special gift to give her, the animal adoptions and Wild Encounters make the perfect presents.

Stop by a Keeper Talk and learn something new from one of the zookeepers. Keeper Talks are scheduled on weekends only until Memorial Day. Be sure to include a talk on your visit this weekend.

Activities taking place include an 11:30 a.m. red panda with animal art painting session, red wolf at 12:30 p.m., tortoise racing (weather permitting) at 2 p.m., African penguin feeding at 2:30 p.m., and a big cat spotlight at 3 p.m.

Mother’s Day is sponsored, in part, by Wild 104 and 98.1 The Hawk.

Other upcoming events include a flea market and book sale on May 19. The flea market is free to attend, and will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Education Center will be full of gently used books for purchase. Proceeds from the book sale go into the zoo’s Global Conservation Fund. Admissions to the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is general admission pricing.

The Binghamton Zoo is located at 60 Morgan Rd. in Binghamton. General admission is $8 for adults and $6 for children ages three to 11. The admissions booth is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, and the zoo closes at 5 p.m.
