On May 4, 2018, the Owego Police Department stopped a vehicle for a vehicle and traffic violation on North Avenue in the Village of Owego. During the traffic stop, it was determined that the operator, Jessica M. Sawatzky, age 23 of Newfield, N.Y. was in possession of controlled substances and was taken into custody.
During the course of the investigation it was determined that a passenger in the vehicle was giving a false name. The passenger was eventually identified as Christian I. Little-Paz, age 31 of Ithaca, N.Y., who was wanted by New York State Parole.
A search of the vehicle turned up heroin, 1/4 lb. of marihuana, 1/2 ounce of MDMA (ecstasy), and 33 vape vials of cannabis oil. The controlled substances seized had a street value of approximately $3,000.
As a result Little-Paz was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree –MDMA, a class B Felony and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fourth degree – cannabis oil, a class C Felony, Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the fourth degree and Criminal Impersonation in the second degree.

Little-Paz was arraigned in the Town of Owego Court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $40,000 cash or $80,000 bail bond.
The operator, Sawatzky, was arrested for four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree – Misdemeanor, Unlawful Possession of Marihuana and a traffic ticket. Sawatzky was in possession of cannabis oil, ecstasy, and miscellaneous prescription medications that are controlled substances.
She was released on an appearance tickets returnable to the Village of Owego Court.
