May is National Military Appreciation Month

Tioga County and the Tioga County Veterans’ Service Agency are recognizing May as Military Appreciation Month. In celebration and as a way to honor all persons currently serving in our Armed Forces, Reserves and Guards, they are hosting “RED Fridays”!

RED stands for “Remember Everyone Deployed”. They are asking all of Tioga County to wear Red on Fridays in May to honor the sacrifices of the men and women in uniform who defend our Country each and every day.

Join them in turning Tioga County RED on Fridays in May. They would really love to see how each of you, your group, your workplace, your friends or your family get involved in this special project, so please take photos of your “RED Fridays” and how you are joining with them and send to their Facebook page, www.facebook.com/Tioga-County-Veterans-Service-Agency. They will post them and show off the support as a community for those who serve for us!

They also have free RED bracelets available to anyone wanting them, and those willing to tell folks why they are wearing them. Bracelets can be obtained at their office on Route 38 in Owego, at Tioga Opportunities on Sheldon Guile Boulevard, and at various County buildings.

For more information on getting involved, call John or Mike at (607) 687-8228.
