Carantouan Greenway to mark its tree trail

Carantouan Greenway to mark its tree trail

On April 21, from 1 to 3 p.m., the Carantouan Greenway will mark its one and a half mile tree trail at its Wildwood Preserve in the Town of Barton.

The public is invited to see what bark clues are used to identify the trees in their winter condition. Does the bark peel? Does it lift off from the sides? Is the bark tight or does it exfoliate, and if so – how?

Let us know if you can identify #14 from the bark photo. You can always check it out at www.carantouangreenway.org and by looking up their tree guide, which is downloadable.
