World-Famous Giraffe calf to celebrate first birthday on April 15

Animal Adventure Park is preparing for a very special first birthday celebration, fit for the world’s most watched giraffe. Tajiri, the calf of famous giraffes April and Oliver, will turn one year old on April 15. 

It was nearly one year ago that more than 2 million viewers all over the world tuned in live to watch Tajiri’s highly anticipated birth via Animal Adventure Park’s fanatical Giraffe Cam. Today, the video of Tajiri’s birth has 15.3 million views, and the park’s YouTube page currently boasts 8.5 billion watch time minutes and 295.7 million views.  

This viral sensation brought 200,000 visitors to Animal Adventure Park during its 2017 season, and has solidified the park as one of the most beloved tourist destinations in the Northeastern United States.  

On his first birthday, Tajiri’s adoring fans will once again flood the Giraffe Cam, located at www.youtube.com/channel/UClnQCgFa9lCBL-KXZMOoO9Q; but this year they’ll have the pleasure of watching the nearly 10-foot-tall giraffe devour a special, giraffe-safe cake, specially crafted by his keepers. A small party will follow for staff and others in attendance, complete with (human!) refreshments generously provided by Baked Euphoria, a Broome County bakery that’s been featured on TLC’s Bakery Boss.

His audience has only grown to love him more over the past twelve months,” Jordan Patch, owner of Animal Adventure Park, says. “It seemed only fitting to include Tajiri’s fans around the world in his birthday celebration by throwing a fun birthday party they can attend virtually, thanks to our Giraffe Cam.”

The birthday celebration will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 15.
