By mid-afternoon, at the Central Fire Station in Owego, there was a steady voter turn-out for elections in the Village of Owego.

With six election inspectors on-hand, all trained by Tioga County, and poll watchers that were busy keeping track of those that were arriving to vote, things seemed to be going smoothly.

According to the election inspectors, there are 2,153 registered voters in the Village of Owego.

Dick Franz, who was serving as a poll watcher, said voter turnout is normal for mid afternoon, and will usually pick up around 4 or 5 p.m.

Results from the election are anticipated by 10 p.m. this evening, and after the votes are tallied and the absentee ballots are counted.

Check back later for the results.
