Write In candidate throws hat into Tuesday’s election

Write-In candidate throws hat into Tuesday’s electionPictured, is Dale Y. Williams. Provided photo.

Last week, Dale Y. Williams announced that she would be running as a write-in candidate for Village of Owego Clerk-Treasurer.

Through paid political advertising and social media, Williams stated that she decided to run after reading the 2016 draft audit findings on the Village of Owego website, which, she stated, she could not ignore.

Williams stated, with her announcement, “I was a Town of Owego employee who has worked across water/sewer, highway and planning department offices for 31 years before retiring. I have training and experience in purchasing, payroll, budgeting and other municipal bookkeeping functions.”

The Taxpayers First Party endorsed Williams’ write-in campaign. She also noted, that you must write-in Dale Y. Williams, utilizing the middle initial.

Williams has been a resident of the Village of Owego for most of her life. In retirement, she spends most of my time now taking care of her mother, spending time with family, and golfing she can. She also works part-time for a locally owned retail store.
