On March 7, 2018, at approximately 4:15 p.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Justin L. Whalen-Smith, age 20 of Owego, N.Y., with the felony of Falsifying Business Records in the 1st degree and the misdemeanor of Petit Larceny. 

An investigation by troopers revealed that while working at the Sunoco on State Route 17 in the town of Owego, Whalen-Smith was stealing store funds, merchandise and falsifying store records to cover up the thefts.   

Whalen-Smith was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Owego Court on March 15, 2018.
