Starting on Black Friday and running through Christmas 2017, Dandy Mini Marts welcomed the holidays with their 13th annual Dandy Canes campaign. During the 32 days, customers were invited to make a $1 donation to local charities handpicked by store associates.

Participants were given a paper “Dandy Cane”, to sign and display at the store, showing that they made a donation. Dandy announced that the 2017 campaign raised an all-time high of $60,034 across the chain’s 64 locations.

One hundred percent of the money raised by each store stays within the community that they serve; a very important aspect of Dandy Canes.

Local food pantries, humane societies, pediatric services, crisis centers, Wounded Warriors, VFW’s, EMS, and fire departments were among the 100 organizations chosen.

After each store manager and their associates selected charities that resonate with themselves and their customers, they worked extremely hard to spread the word and collect donations.

Great support of Dandy Canes comes from the opportunity for their customers to give back to local organizations that touch so many hearts within their communities.

Dandy Mini Marts President, Randy Williams, thanks all whom were involved in the success of the 2017 Dandy Canes.

Williams stated, “We are thrilled that together with the community we are able to provide over $60,000 in charitable donations to so many great organizations. I would personally like to thank both our associates, who put forth such a tremendous effort for these wonderful organizations, and all of our valued customers for being so generous during the holiday season.”

Dandy Canes is an annual fundraising campaign takes place in November and December. Paper Dandy Canes are available for purchase at all Dandy Mini Mart locations during that time.

To date Dandy Canes have raised nearly half a million dollars in support of various charities.

Dandy Mini Marts, Inc. operates 64 locations in Northern Pennsylvania and Southern New York. Dandy is a full line convenient store with an excellent food service offering and a large selection of today’s fueling options, including compressed natural gas (CNG).
