On the weekend of March 2, March 9 and March 16, performances of “Legally Blonde: The Musical” will take place at the Ti-Ahwaga Theatre located on Delphine Street in Owego. Show dates and times are March 2, 3 and 4, March 9, 10 and 11, and March 16, 17 and 18, with Friday and Saturday performances at 8 p.m. and on Sundays at 2 p.m.

Based on the novel and the hit movie of the same name, Legally Blonde: the Musical follows the professional and personal transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, sexism, snobbery and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. 

This high-energy show was written by Heather Hach, featuring a catchy score with music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin.

The show stars Caitlin Westfall as Elle Woods, a fashionable sorority queen dumped by her boyfriend. Christine Hafer plays Paulette Bonafonte, the beautician who encourages Elle to be true to herself and her natural hair color. Gil Choi plays the handsome but self-centered Warner, Elle’s college boyfriend. Nick Sewcheck plays Emmett the Harvard Teaching Assistant who sees Elle’s true potential. Jamie Cornell plays Professor Callahan, a middle-aged professor at Harvard Law School and Annie Fabiano is cast as the prestige-seeking Vivienne, Elle’s nemesis. Jean Graham whips us into shape as the fitness queen, Brooke Wyndham. As Pilar, Margo and Serena, the melodic voices of Alondra Hughes, Marjorie Donovick and Brandy Engel, harmonize as Elle’s’ trusted muses.

Supporting roles are filled by Eli Carlin, Kerry Kane, Michael Kane, Seth Vaughn, Karlie Vaughn, Andrew Hafer, Christine Ryder and Kylee Thetga.

Legally Blonde: The Musical, is directed and choreographed by Brian Flynn with music direction by Nick Pauldine. Other members of the creative team include Heather Cornell (Producer), Gerald Arbes (Master Carpenter), Diane Arbes (Costume Designer), and Jack Klapprodt (Lighting Designer).
