A New Hope Center to host Volunteer Hotline Training

Volunteers are needed to staff the 24-hour crisis hotline offered through A New Hope Center, an organization that provides support, counseling, and crisis intervention services.

The volunteer training is free, and those who complete this training may be eligible to receive New York State DOH Rape Crisis Counselor certification.

Classes are scheduled to begin on Monday, Feb. 26, and will run once a week for ten weeks, finishing up on May 7.

The classes run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. each week, and a light dinner will be provided after each session. The training will take place at 20 Church St. in Owego.

To preregister, call (607) 687-6887, email to chriss@anewhopecenter.org (write volunteer in the subject line), or you can register through Facebook at A New Hope Center.
