Owego Gymnastics team competed in the LeatherStocking Invitational held Jan. 20 and 21 at Utica College with over 600 girls competing. The level 2 team placed third with Eva Crawford leading the group with a 1st on vault with 9.65, 3rd on beam with 9.15, 7th on floor with 9.475, and 1st All Around (AA) with a 36.95.   

Elizabeth Abbey had a 9th on bars with 8.8, 11th on beam with 8.95, and 11th AA with a 35.825. Brynna Twedt was 11th on vaulting with 9.15, Kilie Allard was 7th on bars with an 8.85, and Samantha Jackson finished up the level 2’s with 22nd on bars – 8.3.

The Level 3 team, being their first competition, faired very well. Mary Divers placed 2nd on vaulting with a 9.475, Dayne Starkweather 12th with a 9.325 (vaulting), Mariah Miller 9th on vaulting with 9.375, and 14th on beam with 9.075; while Brianna Lounsbury placed 19th on beam with 8.625, Kelsey Jackson 12th on vaulting with 9.275, Kali Bailey 39th on vaulting with 8.65, Evelyn Howe 9th on beam with 9.25, and Samantha Shirley has a 9.2 on vaulting – good for a 22nd place finish.  

Kaelyn Katchuk, a Level 4 gymnast, placed 3rd AA with a 36.25, plus 4th on bars with 8.95, 3rd on beam with 9.425, and 7th on floor with 9.3. Her teammate, Lexi Cheeseman, was 2nd on bars with 9.3, 9th on beam with 8.9, and 7th AA with 35.725. Mira Kittle was 7th with 8.7, 5th on bars with 8.95, 8th on beam with 8.925, and 8th with 35.325 in her age group. Makenzie Donnelly was 3rd on bars with a 9.0, Madison Cron was 6th on bars with 8.95, and Kaylin Twedy has 8.6 on bars for a 13th place.

Kenadie Dunlap, Level 5, placed 10th on vaulting with 9.0, 6th on bars with 9.1, 10th on floor with 8.9, and 10th AA with a 35.3. Her teammate, Natalie O’Neil, placed 13 on beam with 8.7 and 10th on floor with 8.9. Carsten Crawford placed 10th on vaulting with 8.9, and rounding out the level 5’s is Lilly Trip who placed 10th on beam with 8.75.  

Their sole competitor in the Level 6 division was Addison Aman. She placed 25th on vaulting with an 8.8.

Established in 1964, Owego Gymnastics is a Not-For-Profit organization, A Tioga United Way agency, and offers programming from tot gymnastics, open gyms, birthday parties with many inflatables available, cheer, dance and TaeKwon Do.
