Upcoming concert to benefit Lions Camp Badger

On Saturday, Feb. 10 from 2 to 4:30 p.m., a Flame the Band Concert and The Edmeister will take place at Tioga Downs, and will benefit Lions Camp Badger.

Lions Camp Badger is sponsoring this groundbreaking event, which will be held in the new Tioga Downs Hotel ballroom in Nichols, N.Y. Come see for yourself that individuals with special needs hold unlimited potential when given the opportunities and support necessary to succeed.  

“Flame” is a ten-member band ensemble where all of the members have disabilities, but they do not let their challenges define them. “Flame” has performed internationally, and they are truly excited to bring their talents to our community. You can learn more about them at flametheband.com.  

Joining “Flame” on the stage will be “The Edmeister”, otherwise known as ventriloquist and local resident Eddie Stevens. Eddie is a camper at Lions Camp Badger whose hidden talents were discovered when he shared them with his camp friends over the summer. A natural performer, Eddie is looking forward to entertaining his audience with a little help from his puppet friends. 

Thanks to several generous donations from the community, many individuals with special needs will be able to attend for free. Be prepared to laugh, to cry, and maybe even dance a little. This event is guaranteed to make you realize and appreciate the potential in all of us when given the opportunity to follow our passions.

Lions Camp Badger is a nonprofit residential camp for teens and adults with functional differences. Campers enjoy swimming, boating, arts and crafts, fishing, sports, and so much more. They believe in the capabilities of those they serve, and use a positive approach to help them reach their fullest potential.

Lions Camp Badger is operated by the Empire State Special Needs Experience, Inc. and is supported by the Lions Clubs of New York State and Bermuda. Their mission is to provide services that enhance the educational, vocational, personal growth and independence of differently-abled children and adults.
