Update:
The search for a missing Owego man ended well on Thursday, when authorities located him at a friend’s house.
According to the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Billy James Zavatto-Bado was last seen at his Ford Road home in Owego at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. However, he left the home after an argument with his mother, according to officials that were at the location of the search.
According to a Facebook post by Mary Zavatto-Bado, Billy’s mother, he is on seizure medication.
She stated, in the post, that it was out of character for Billy to take off and not to call home. She suspected something was wrong, and was worried he might have a seizure without his medication.
The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office, the New York State Police, Search and Rescue teams, forest rangers, and members of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation were all involved in the search that began Wednesday evening, and then again on Thursday morning in the area of Hullsville and Ford Roads in the Town of Owego.
At approximately 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, Zavatto-Bado was located at a friend’s house, and was reported to be unharmed.
