The Countryside Community Center in Owego had a packed house on Dec. 13 as 34 performers from T.A.D.A., Tioga Artistic Dance Academy, and team members of Owego Gymnastics held their Holiday Showcase. The freewill offering admission raised $644 in donations for the local chapter of the Make A Wish Foundation.
T.A.D.A. Director and Choreographer, Danel Pietrowski, stated, “What a perfect opportunity we had during the Season of Giving to not only showcase our dancers’ and gymnastic team members’ skills and hard work, but to teach our students to give back to others with their time and talents.”
Under the instruction of Danel and her assistant, Chelsea Darling from the adorable littlest dancers as snowflakes, to more seasoned performers dancing to “Mary Did You Know”, the program included 12 acts, ending with a surprise routine with Santa Claus dancing alongside performers to “Up on the Housetop”. A variety of ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and gymnastics demonstrations to choreographed music wowed the audience of approximately 150.
They want to thank Jana Bowen, director of Owego Gymnastics and Activity Center, for her support and for emceeing the show, as well as all of the performers and their families, and the volunteers for making this show possible.
