On Thursday, Jan. 11, the Tioga County Department of Social Services (DSS) announced that Sarah Gunther, office specialist, had been named Employee of the Fourth Quarter 2017.
According to a press release received from DSS, this award is given in recognition of Gunther’s outstanding work and contributions to the Tioga County Department of Social Services.
Gunther began her career with Tioga County DSS in April 2006 when she was hired as a typist in the SNAP/Medicaid unit. DSS commented that Gunther is the backbone of that unit, providing outstanding support to her supervisors and co-workers.
They stated, in the release, “Her co-workers witness daily her ability to multi-task and her willingness to put aside what she is doing to assist others when asked. She demonstrates a positive attitude and the skill to remain upbeat in stressful situations all while making her duties appear effortless.”
In the release, they summed up that Gunther is an outstanding asset to the Agency and is very deserving of this award.
