Campville Fire Department receives Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation grant

The Campville Fire Department recently announced they have received a grant from the Mildred Faulkner Truman Foundation for $15,367.95.

The grant dollars will be used for safety items to include a Reflective Safety Vest for the membership. This will help the Firefighters and EMS personnel be seen on incidents that involve the roadway.

The grant will also be used to purchase small Carbon Monoxide meters for the EMS bag on the Ambulance. The meters will help detect Carbon Monoxide in homes that firefighters and rescue workers often have to enter. Not all calls are what they seem, the Campville Fire Department stated in a press release, and this will help keep the members safe from this colorless and odorless Killer.

The grant will also be used to purchase portable radios for the Fire and EMS personnel. The radios will help members communicate with other members and report the condition of medical patients back to the ambulance.
