On Nov. 16, pre-Kindergarten students at Lincoln Street Elementary School in Waverly visited a dental office. Luckily, they did not have to go far.
Parked outside of the school is the Tioga Mobile Dental Van. Students saw dental instruments, lights, and rode in the dental chair.
Nicole Whitmore, dental hygienist, explained, “This is a positive experience that can help alleviate any anxiety about going to the dentist. Students get to see that it is actually a lot of fun.”
The Tioga Mobile Dental Van is a service of Tioga County Public Health and is open to Tioga County residents without a dentist. Next stop for the Tioga Dental Van is the Tioga Elementary School.
