Hats provide warmth this holiday season

With many smiles and busy fingers, the women of the First Baptist Church (on the corner of Main and Church Streets in Owego) have been making or collecting hats, gloves, and scarves to help the young people of our area keep warm this winter.

These items will be put into individual plastic bags to keep them dry and clean, and so that sizes (pre-school through adult) and colors can be easily seen.

To pick up needed items, come to the front porch of “The Spot” next door to the church on Saturday afternoon, and on Sunday morning after Thanksgiving and help yourself. They will not be available during the first weekend of December, but will again be ready for picking up after that until the end of January, if the supply lasts until then.

Their hope is that people who need an extra layer of warmth will appreciate the work the ladies have done, and that each item will be a blessing to those who receive it.
