Al Knapp Named Public Health Team Member of the Half

Al Knapp Named Public Health Team Member of the HalfAl Knapp, pictured, center, is recognized as Public Health Team Member of the Half.

The Tioga County Public Health Department is pleased to announce Al Knapp as Team Member of the Half. This honor, according to the Tioga County Public Health Department, is given to employees who “demonstrate a philosophy of concern and who make the department a better place in which to work. They must possess an eagerness to provide prompt, efficient and courteous service to clients as well as to other co-workers.”

Knapp has worked for the Tioga County Public Health since 2006. He started as a Public Health Technician and within two years was promoted to Sanitarian. 

In a press release, the Health Department noted, “Knapp’s interest in and commitment to Public Health is evident in him getting his Master’s degree in Public Health and in becoming a Certified Lead Assessor.” 

The continued, in the release, “Al positively impacts our families who need help and guidance in home safety. He is also instrumental in assuring our restaurants, summer camps, and public pools are safe. He helps people live happier and healthier lives. Al exemplifies what public health is all about.”
