I’d like to ask, when is it illegal to be Native American? What is the law to be Native American? What is it like to be Native American? Well, look at us.

This is response to the person whining about going 40mph in a 55mph zone. There is no minimum speed on these roads unless you are on a freeway, and that’s 45. I have watched idiot people come up behind me averaging 45 to 50, right when my overdrive kicks in, and ride my butt, come to a passing zone with no vehicles in sight anywhere, and won’t pass. Yet I watch him in the mirror fuming, cussing, swearing, flipping me off. I don’t care! I’m retired, I go as fast as I want and on the main roads I’ll go the speed limit. On the backcountry roads I just cruise. I’m in no hurry. Think about this, every time you’re running late and you get somewhere, what do you have to do? Wait. So slow down, enjoy life and save your heart.

What do you say about a person who uses a curtain to hide desecration of an historic house? What does it say about the village code enforcement officer that he allows this to happen?

The questions every PROPERTY OWNER in the Village of Owego should be asking this mayor and trustees is why are they trying to eliminate the only FINANCIAL ADVANTAGE a former mayor and board were able to find to help with maintenance? Shouldn’t they spend more time and efforts trying to discover why our village has one of the highest property tax rates in the nation including Long Island and California and do something to bring that down? How about offering a tax credit for a year to ALL property owners who do any WORK, exterior or interior that requires a building permit and is done according to code. We all need help. Encouraging a Band-Aid on a broken leg approach that ends up costing more in the long run doesn’t help any property. Why is this mayor and board trying to virtually eliminate a program that has helped at least a few of our folks and has the potential for future benefits. If there are issues they need to work harder and call or go online with the dozens of other towns and villages and see how they make it work. Then they need to work even harder to find a way to help EVERYONE in our village.

I see the OHPC has added two new members that are past politicians; they will be against anything the current board wants to do. I think the OHPC should be eliminated. Grants for businesses comes from the state, and the state gets their money from the taxpayers of New York State. So in essence, the people of Owego pay for all of this. I don’t think that is what they wanted their tax money to do. Also, the tax credits are a mess; I talked to several people to get answers in the State Offices and they said if I filed all the right papers and all the historical offices approved them, I could get five percent off my State income tax. So please, Owego Village Board, do away with the OHPC and let each person fix their property as they want – some can be great historical properties and others can use materials they want and the design they want.

With all this ridiculous kneeling during out National Anthem, I predict a lot of knee and joint pain coming on so I will be buying stock in all types of arthritis medicines.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was exactly correct. The Commander in Chief is a moron; I would say an egomaniac. When Trump said this is the calm before the storm, I was hoping he meant he was going to resign. And go Bob Corker, you are right; the White House is an adult day care center.

There was a lot of talk in this week’s Pennysaver about morons. The Commander in Chief stated that he had talked with the President of the Virgins Islands and everything was going good after the hurricane. Doesn’t he know that he is the president? This name-calling, the latest about the wacky Congresswoman in Florida, this sounds like someone in elementary school. Come on Chief of Staff Kelley, you are beginning to sound just like the President! He is the empty barrel. Bush and Obama’s speeches were right on and this Steve Bannon is a complete idiot!

Trump will be more than happy to open up the JFK files. It will be a great distraction from all of his idiotic doings and his stupid decisions he’s making. Can someone tell me why he continues to lie so much and never stops? Is it a disease? Is lying the new norm or is it a mental problem? Sad.

I’m really getting fed up with all you people bashing our poor president, Donald Trump. The reason he didn’t go to Viet Nam is because the poor man had bones spurs in his feet, six times! Can you believe that? Six times and he still made president. What a wonderful man, it’s too bad he couldn’t have fought in Viet Nam like every good citizen that had been drafted, but oh well, that’s the way it goes. It’s too bad because he would’ve been a great soldier. Just too bad for those poor bone spurs that kept him from going to Viet Nam. Oh well.

I thought the public around this area should know these facts because do you know the Republicans just passed huge massive trillion dollar plus cuts to Medicaid and Medicare? In this next budget they snuck that in. Do you know who voted for them? Yes they did, our two local representatives voted yes. Even though the Medicaid cuts are going to hurt this state terribly. The Medicare, the older population, why should he take care of the older people when we can get the tax cuts for the billionaires and corporations. You know corporate profits are up higher than they have ever been in history. But that’s okay; the old people don’t need to live any more. And by the way, remember those two people at election time who voted for those cuts. That’s a fact!

It’s just about one year and we’re still hearing sour grapes about Hillary’s loss. I’ve come to the conclusion that Hillary cannot deal with rejection. She just continues to blame everyone and everything for her loss. But I’m wondering, and my question is this, how did she deal with Bill and his womanizing? I say she must have been okay with that because we never heard much more about it.

Contrary to what last week’s reader said, 99 percent of the people do want to know what Hillary and Flick Willy did to the country by selling 20 percent of our uranium. People just hand out $145 million to the foundation for nothing in return? Yeah, right. It looks like Trump is innocent and Obama, Comey, Loretta Lynch and the Attorney General before her were the ones colluding with Russia.

The blubbering Democrats like Chucky Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, and Rhinos like Senators Flake, Corker and McCain attack our great President Trump with fake news accusations. Flake and Corker say they will fight bravely and stand up to Trump, and then they turn tail and bail out of running in future elections. The Socialist Democrats and their media lackeys have beat the old guard GOP senseless for decades and taken this country to the brink of disaster with no blow back from the GOP. Now with Trump’s populous nationalist triumphant win, the silent majority is no longer silent. As Steve Bannon says, the Rhinos will be defeated in the next primaries. Go Trump!

I have conducted a political experiment. Many of my friends and associates are Republican. I asked them, are you proud of Dwight D. Eisenhower? Yes. I asked them, are you proud of John F. Kennedy? Yes. I asked them, are you proud of Donald Trump? It amazes me about what a long pause they had before they said yes. There was no thinking at all with Eisenhower and Kennedy but when it came to Trump, silence tells you a lot. Buyers remorse, fess up, you guys are duped.

I got a kick out of that comment about Donald Trump avoiding the Viet Nam draft with his five deferments concerning his bone spurs. I consider him smart for doing so. Since when is being a damn coward considered smart. I’d rather be a dumb grunt with self-respect. Trump sucks!

I wish Mitch McDonald and Paul Ryan would grow a pair and tell Trump what Trump needs to hear. Also, I wish the other cowardly Republican Senators would stand up to Mr. Trump, otherwise we are in big trouble. The Republican Party is splitting, it’s being fractured, and it’s being destroyed. Grow a pair!

I think I speak for all Democrats. We are not poor losers, we have always accepted a Republican president, but now it is different. It has to do with who that Republican is. You Republicans have to admit he has to go and Pence will do a better job. Really, think about it.

The rats at the DNC, CNBC, CNN and other so-called Marxist Democrats are jumping off the good ship Hillary as fast as they can. Hillary belongs in jail, but don’t hold your breath. The swamp is everywhere and only President Trump can start to drain it.

Republican tax reform news. Most of us in the middle class are taxed in the 15 percent bracket. The Republican tax plan eliminates the 15 percent tax category, replacing it with 20 percent levied. That means the people in the middle class get to pay more taxes under the tax reform now pending in congress. Does that make sense to the rest of us voters? What do you think?

I love it. All you have to do is follow the money, especially to the Clinton Foundation. I wonder how Hillary sleeps at night. What must her supporters think of her now? It’s chilling to think she may have been our next president, and had that happened her latest scandal would have never been uncovered. How is it possible that she knew nothing as she negotiated the uranium deal, and Obama had to be involved as well. Chilling, very chilling!

Trump is trying to provide a middle-class tax cut. However, the government has never seen a dollar it didn’t want to confiscate. Republicans, in collusion with Dims and Public Employee Unions, Swamp Mobsters all, are about to commit a stealthy economic hate crime against you. It appears innocuous but the math is onerous. They are out to steal your retirement savings. It is a $2,400 limit on tax-free contributions to your 401(k). Effectively it is a tax on your 401(k) retirement savings and double taxation for some of it. Like Obamacare and the deficit it bleeds most from our youngest taxpayers. With private sector pensions gone they are forcing greater dependency on government handouts, i.e. Social Security, which is going bankrupt. Tell Chucky Schumer and K. Gillibrand to do what they say and pull their heads out of the Swamp and protect us.

What is wrong with congresswomen Federica Wilson? Number one, the troops were in Niger for years before President Trump was elected into office. Number two, she had no business commenting on a private conversation that wasn’t hers to do. Number three, why all of a sudden would President Trump become uncaring about someone that was killed. I can’t believe how out of touch Wilson, Schumer, Pelosi, Warren and Waters are. I can’t believe how they picked General Kelly apart, who is a gold star parent. Where is the respect from these people? Did they ever serve in a war? They are overpaid politicians who don’t know how to do their job and show some respect for the President and his cabinet. I didn’t hear them donating one million dollars to the hurricane relief or donating their yearly salary for one year like President Trump did. You Democrats with no manners need to put your money where your mouth is. Just like the benefit for the hurricane relief that the five former Presidents put on. When Carter was talking, Obama and Bush were smirking and chuckling at him for talking about habitat building 6,000 homes for people. How disrespectful of them. I am not saying the republicans are squeaky clean, but they haven’t even done one quarter of what the Dems are doing. Come on people, please come together and bring the U.S.A. back to being united. Stop twisting every good thing Trump is doing to just the opposite. I think he is doing the best job he can under the circumstances with you all blocking things he needs to get done. Thank you for letting me vent.
