Owego never forgets her veterans. Nor does the OA Schools’ 2017-2018 Calendar. Check out the beautiful picture of Pearl Harbor Survivor, 95-year-old Bill Kennedy of Owego, after his talk to Owego Free Academy students on Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day in 2016. The last Pearl Harbor Survivor in our area recalled the attacks of that Sunday morning, Dec. 7, at Pearl Harbor. Taking the selfie, is, at the time, Freshman Angelina Hammond. Sixty Social Studies students were invited. Over 300 students heard living history from a distinguished WWII veteran of the Greatest Generation.
