It’s Apple Everything Time Again!

We are extremely excited about Apple Festival 2017! This event always shares the heritage of our wonderful community, welcomes the fall season, and celebrates Apple Everything!

The event is scheduled for Oct. 7 and 8, and runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at the Bement Billings Farmstead located on Route 38 in Newark Valley. Watch for the signs.

Take a horse and wagon ride, watch the Lumberjills’ axe throwing demo, enjoy candle dipping and other hands-on crafts, and listen to live music, shop local vendors, and explore a multitude of activities in the Kids’ Zone. We are proud that we can offer something for the entire family.

Don’t forget to bring your appetite. Try some of our delicious kettle soup simmering over the open fires, a barbecue, homemade sauerkraut, local cheeses, fresh pressed cider, apple butter, apple waffles, apple pizza, and many other apple treats.

This year at the Apple Festival we celebrate the New York State Women’s Suffrage Centennial (1917-2017). It has been 100 years since our state signed women’s suffrage into law, three years before the U.S. passed the 19th Amendment.

During the Apple Festival this year you will see interpreters such as Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Our local Girl Scout troops will also be marching and spreading the history of this important movement.

Admission to the event is $6 for adults, $4 students and senior citizens, and an $18 family rate. To learn more, call 642-9516.
