There is a new Farmer Brown in town!

The Tioga County Chamber of Commerce will host a Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting for Farmer Browns Marketplace located on 4280 Route 434 in Apalachin, N.Y. The celebration and open house will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 1:30 p.m.

S&H Farmer Browns Garden center and driving range, previously owned by Paul Darpino and Samira Sharquawi has a new name, Farmer Browns Marketplace, and a new owner, Logan Keeney. In addition to extensive customer service experience, Logan has many years of growing and gardening experience that started in high school horticulture class running the school’s greenhouse. He apprenticed on an organic vegetable farm, obtained permaculture certification, served on the board of Project Grow, and got the garden growing at Tioga Downs Casino.

Farmer Browns has been a locally owned and operated garden center for 20 years and is known for its top-quality products at reasonable prices. Farmer Browns provides easy, convenient shopping every spring and summer, and has become a mainstay among gardeners from the local area and beyond.

This tradition of quality products at great prices will continue to be a top priority at Farmer Browns Marketplace.  In addition, plans are underway to expand into a four-season marketplace offering early spring flowers, summertime annuals and perennials, vegetable plants, small shrubs, perennial edibles, fall mums, Halloween pumpkins, and items to dress-up your home for the winter holiday season.

You will still find a great selection of perennials, home grown fall mums, fall decorations, and a bit of a new look and new signage. Their hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, from April through Oct. 27.
