TCNN Member Focus: The Tioga County Chamber of Commerce

The Tioga County Chamber of Commerce works hard to make local businesses stronger and Tioga County a great place to live, learn, work and play. From helping members to make connections at networking events to increasing their bottom line, we are committed to helping our members succeed in this dynamic community.

For nearly a century, our mission has been to support and promote the commercial and civic well being of Tioga County. Chamber members are dedicated to helping our community grow, and we encourage you to do business with them.

You may know the Tioga Chamber for ribbon cuttings and groundbreakings, but we do so much more. There’s a vast scope of services that we offer, including a weekly eBlast newsletter, educational and networking events, business-to-business marketing and opportunities for small business counseling. The Tioga Chamber also works with elected officials to help improve the business climate of New York State.

In 2017, the Tioga Chamber started offering On-The-Job (OJT) grants to the businesses and organizations of Tioga County in order to offset training costs for their employees. This will be an ongoing program for businesses in the county.

Since 1999, Leadership Tioga has been a Tioga Chamber of Commerce sponsored program designed to assist, educate, inform and empower participants. The goal is to develop individuals for future leadership roles in our county and increase their knowledge of local issues and leadership skills. So far, over 300 people have completed the program, and a new program year will begin in January.

The Tioga Chamber has been an integral part of the Tioga County Business Services Team as well. This year, they presented the 3rd Annual Tioga County Job Fair, and 89 regional employers participated and over 600 job seekers attended. Employment opportunities included entry level to professional positions, and covered a broad spectrum of occupations.

Membership in the Tioga County Chamber of Commerce is open to businesses of all sizes. To learn more about the Tioga Chamber, call 687-2020 or visit www.tiogachamber.com. The Tioga Chamber is a nonprofit 501(c) 6 organization located at 80 North Ave. in Owego.

The Tioga County Non-Profit Network (TCNN) is a grassroots effort to bring together leaders from non-profit organizations to address common interests and to better serve the people of Tioga County. TCNN typically meets every other month on the fourth Wednesday from noon to 1:30 p.m.
