This is to the punk who killed that poor little dog and only got four months. He’s lucky that was not my dog. He would be getting street justice by now.

I am so grateful; it’s about time someone caught up with Spectrum and Time Warner before they get further than they are now. They have 23 or 24 minutes of commercials on a one-hour show, therefore half of my show is going into commercials; so why am I sitting here watching this stupid thing? Their picture goes out of their communication system several times a day and they always put it on at a certain time each day, because at about 9 a.m. all the television power is off until you reset your TV. Come on; tell me about it, I’m so grateful someone is finally catching on.

I’m just calling back to thank the reader who called in and helped me with the currency exchange information and town equipment auction information. Thank you whoever you are! Have a good day!

This is Bill from Endicott, I’m responding to the person who was shocked by the alligators in the Whitney Point Reservoir. I just wanted to let them know during the last crappy derby I was lucky enough to hook one of them up there but they made me throw it back because there is no category for crocks. There is no open season in New York State for crocks or alligators. So I have a suggestion. Maybe they can get those guys from Louisiana to come up here and hunt them this fall. It’s only a suggestion.

I would just like to send out a great big THANK YOU to the wonderful person who turned in my pocket book that I left in the parking lot or store at Price Chopper on Friday, Aug. 25. So good to know there are still a lot of good people out there. Again, Thank you so much!

Pictured on Page 20 of Alexander Antelek riding what is said to be a 1930’s Harley is absolutely inaccurate. According to the picture it looks like maybe it’s a Whizzer. It has nothing to do with Harley and it’s totally inaccurate.

I just kayaked for the cure yesterday on the Susquehanna River and I just want to say what a wonderful time it was and what a great job Ryan Kline did. I will be there next year for sure. Great Job!

Is there anyone out there who sells Fuller Brush items?

~

When you’re making a right hand turn, please don’t drift left. It makes no sense.

~

Why don’t they make cars and trucks out of hard rubber? You wouldn’t have to paint them, they wouldn’t rust and in the event of a collision you’d bounce off!

~

Can we stop throwing cigarette butts all over the place?

~

So none of the eating competitors at Tioga Downs threw up after 24 hours. That makes me feel so much better. As H. L. Mencken said, “No one ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public.” These contests take place around the world, but the good ole’ U.S.A. seems to have the majority of them. If you decide to participate, a few people have died from too much of a good thing: www.eater.com/2017/4/7/15187338/food-eating-contests-danger-liability-lawsuit.

Right on red does not mean you can just zoom through the intersection. It means you treat the light as if it were a stop sign.

In answer to the question – How do we stop extinction? We don’t! We can’t! But man can lesson the severity by intelligent actions.

Couples Dance Club is seeking new members. The Let’s Dance Club of the Southern Tier Region of New York is a couples ballroom dance club that hosts five dinner dances with live music each year, September thru May. Dances are held at various venues in the Triple cities area with different bands. The “Club” membership fee supports the costs of the facilities and bands. The meal costs are an add-on for each dance that you attend and are not subsidized by the “Club” fee. For more information, contact the Club’s website at www.stny.info/letsdance or the Secretary Couple at tony45@virtualforum.com.

As I try to enjoy time on my porch and in my kitchen, it is upsetting that I am forced to breathe in my neighbors’ dryer sheet toxins. Who wouldn’t want to reduce cancer for themselves by avoiding toxics-laden clothes and save money by not buying dryer sheets? These are unregulated for a reason, so corporations can continue to empty your wallet and feed on your ignorance. Pharmaceuticals and most medical treatment exist to remediate the damage we do to our neighbors and ourselves. Let’s honor and support the health of our community by not using and venting dryer sheet toxins.

While I admire those who are able to get to hit the trails for their daily jogs, walks and biking expeditions, I would ask that you would show respect the drivers on the roads that you are choosing for your exercise. Davis Road, Lisle Road and East Beecher Hill Road are not the paths you should be taking. None have shoulders and those of you who are walking two and three abreast are endangering your lives as well as the lives of those who travel those roads with autos as well. We often have to stop for oncoming traffic when you are taking your space in the middle of the road. It is frightening – especially when you are walking / jogging / biking with or without your pets and your precious children in strollers. We have one of the most beautiful parks in Tioga County – Hickories Park. I would suggest that you do your daily exercises there where you and others can be safe and sound.

National Political Viewpoints

I just want to say Melania Trump is doing very well as First Lady. She stays in the background, but she’s capable of speaking several languages in other countries if asked to. She dresses appropriate, seems to serve us well, and is a good mom to young Baron.

~

Whenever you hear anybody badmouthing Trump, remember that they also attack Jesus.

I believe the “R” following a candidates name stands for different things. A few of them though would be revitalize, rebuild, rejuvenate, and most importantly, rescue all of which are needed by our great country.

~

Can anyone tell me what Chuck Schumer has done for the American people? He should not even be accepting any type of paycheck.

~

I’ll never understand the rebuilt Tappan Zee Bridge after Mario Cuomo. So who’s he? He didn’t do an ounce of work on it. What they should have done is put all the ironworker’s names that did work on it in a hat and pull one out. Then that one name would represent all the workers who did work on it risking life and limb to bring it to completion.

~

Statue removal is censorship in my view. It makes me think of something out of George Orwell’s novel 1984. The question is where do you draw the line?

~

This comment is for the Republican who chose to sit out the last election. Well you know he has some serious doubts about Donald Trump’s mental and emotional state. What is he dumb, just plain stupid or what? There’s not anything wrong with Donald Trump and I feel sorry for him or her because they’re not actually Republicans, they’re just left wing Democrats that do nothing but complain about other people. If Donald Trump handed this person a million dollars it wouldn’t be good enough because it wouldn’t be in the right cash or whatever. I suggest the buttercup sucks it up and gets over it.

~

Cheers to President Trump for pardoning Sheriff Joe Arpaio who served faithfully for 50 years in Arizona by enforcing illegal alien laws and providing very cost effective jail time for convicted criminals. Arpaio lost the last sheriff’s election because billionaire Democrat George Soros pumped $3 million into Arpaio’s phony liberal Democrat opponent. The lame stream media is apoplectic but fails to site Bill Clinton’s pardon of Mark Rich, who contributed $450,000 to the Clinton library and $1million to various Democrat campaigns. Of course Obama pardoned Oscar Rivera and pardoned hundreds of convicted drug dealers before he faded into history; but the lame stream media will not mention those.

~

Trump was standing like a proud peacock behind former Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Trump’s hand was on Arpaio’s shoulder. It was laughable, disgusting and deplorable. Hillary Clinton got it right and called Trump a creep. Go Hillary, you are so right! Now that Gorka is gone out of the White House more creeps will be going too. Where are your tax returns Trump? What are you hiding and stop it already. Get Trump off of the TV, he’s such a nightmare. We need a real president. Go get ‘em Robert Muller.

~

I would like someone to tell me just one thing about New York State that makes it worth living in. The sky is gray almost everyday or raining or snowing. Never a sunny day all day. Cold and dark all the time, high taxes, no good jobs that pay worth a darn, nothing to do. Property value down .5 percent in the last ten years, the gun laws stink. No wonder this area has such a high suicide rate. Myself, I’m getting to the point where I think it would be better dead than to continue to live in this awful place, New York State.

~

President Trump is handling the situation in Texas like a pro. Nobody does it better. I am so glad I voted for Donald Trump for president. Continue on Mr. Trump, we’re proud of you.

~

Mr. Trump is being very patient with that dictator in North Korea and it’s high time we do something decisive. Hitler could have been stopped when he invaded the Sudetenland.
