Valu Home Centers presented Habitat for Humanity with a check for $108,300 during a live broadcast on July 31. The presentation, broadcast from the Valu Home Centers store location on Clinton Street in Buffalo, is an annual event that raises money and awareness for the work of Habitat for Humanity.

Valu Home Centers is proud to cover all administrative costs so that 100 percent of these donations will support Habitat for Humanity as they continue their mission to provide safe, decent housing for families in need.

The donation was generated from funds collected at Valu stores during the 25th annual Habitat for Humanity fundraising campaign. For five weeks, cashiers asked customers to donate one dollar in exchange for a raffle ticket that entered them to win a $1,000 Valu Home Centers gift card, or a 2017 Ford Focus.

The winner of the new car, a resident of Hamburg, N.Y., was chosen during the live broadcast from over 100,000 tickets by Ron Talboys, of Habitat for Humanity of Buffalo, N.Y.

All funds raised will stay in the communities where they were collected; so all donors give where they live. Valu Home Centers is committed to giving back to the neighborhoods that they serve and is proud to support the important work organizations like Habitat for Humanity.

The Broome and Tioga County Habitat for Humanity affiliate is served by the Valu Home Centers store in Owego. This year, that store raised an impressive $2,530 of the $108,300 total, and those funds will stay in the Broome and Tioga County communities to serve families in need. Valu Home Centers presented Broome and Tioga County Habitat for Humanity with a check for their portion of the funds on Tuesday, Aug. 2.

Valu Home Centers would like to express their sincere gratitude to their generous customers who support the Habitat for Humanity fundraising campaign each year. For more information on Valu Home Centers and their Commitment to Community, visit valuhomecenters.com.
