Earlier this week, Lake Street in downtown Owego was officially open for traffic and parking – but only temporarily. According the Village of Owego’s Mayor Steve May, the road is open until Aug. 28, at which point the milling, paving and striping will begin.
At the time that the work begins, which is a joint paving effort between NYSEG and SUEZ, Lake Street will once again be closed. May anticipated that the work would take approximately one week to complete at that time.
