Music superstar, LeAnn Rimes, an international multi-platinum selling artist, is scheduled to perform on the Tioga Downs Summer Concert stage on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 8 p.m.

Rimes’ first came into the spotlight at the age of thirteen with one of the most highly successful songs in music history, the hit, Blue, in 1996.  The song, accompanied by the multi-platinum selling album of the same name, which celebrated its twentieth anniversary last year, remained at the number one spot on Billboard’s country albums chart for more than three months, and has remained in the hearts of fans ever since.

Another incredible accomplishment for Rimes, out of the 42 charting singles she has released throughout her career, the song, “How Do I Live” ranks number four on Billboard’s “Greatest of All Time: Hot 100 songs.”

Via an email-interview, when asked what she considers her “signature song,” Rimes’ replied, “I owe a lot of my career to ‘Blue’ and ‘How Do I Live.’ And, you would think I would get sick of singing them after all these years, but I don’t,” adding, “On the tour, we revamp them a bit to make them new and fresh, which is always fun for me as an artist and fun for the audience as well.”

Rimes’ owns a voice that is one of the most easily recognizable in all genres of music, and her extraordinary career includes selling more than 44 million units. Today, her music genre can be described as not only country, but also pop and dance-pop.

LeAnn’s catalog of awards includes two Grammy Awards, twelve Billboard Music Awards, two World Music Awards, three ACM Awards, one CMA Award and one Dove Award, just to name a few. A memorable occasion in 1997, Rimes won the “Best New Artist” Grammy at the age of fourteen, which made her the youngest recipient of music’s most prestigious award.

Earlier this year, Rimes released her 16th studio album, Remnants. Debuting at number four on Billboard’s independent album chart and peaking at number three on iTunes, the first single released in the U.S., “Long Live Love” and the hot dance single, “LovE is LovE is LovE,” have both charted for multiple weeks, the latter which recently hit number one.

When asked what fans can look forward to at her Tioga Downs concert, Rimes’ replied, “Gosh, we mix it up a lot. You can expect some of the classics, songs from my new album, Remnants, and even renditions from artists I admire!”

Remnants includes a powerful tune entitled, “Mother,” which describes the up and down relationship LeAnn had with her mother during the early years of her career. The upbeat and fun piece, “LovE is LovE is LovE” is a song that Rimes said will be performed at the Tioga Downs show, and she encourages everyone to participate by singing and dancing.

“Yes, we will definitely perform it,” Rimes said, adding, “I love that people are resonating with the message of love and equality.”

In addition to her music career LeAnn has also acted in several television movies, and today can be seen in a cameo appearance in the film, “Logan Lucky” which opens in theaters on Aug. 18. Rimes’ is also a children’s book author, and enjoys time being a stepmother to two boys.

In addition, Rimes will release new singles later this year, embark on a Christmas tour, and continue to share inspiration on her positive lifestyle blog, Soul of EverLe.

About her stepsons, LeAnn shared, “When I was Jake and Mason’s age, I was already touring and didn’t really get a childhood, so it is fun to see and share experiences with them.”

LeAnn has long-supported numerous charity organizations, from the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) to the National Psoriasis Foundation to the Friend Movement, an anti-bullying organization, among many others. A 2009 recipient of the ACM Humanitarian Award, last month Rimes was honored with the Ally of Equality Award by the Human Rights Campaign, which celebrated her ongoing support of the LGBTQ community.

About the Tioga Downs show, LeAnn concluded, “I will say, no matter what, I will do everything I can so we can have a great time!”
