On Saturday, July 22, hundreds of children arrived at Marvin Park in Owego, N.Y. for Tioga County’s annual picnic, which is sponsored by the VFW Post 1371 and American Legion Post 401.

There were tractor rides, face painting, games featuring prizes, a dunk tank, bounce houses, and plenty of food and treats. There was also a clown making balloon animals, and a favorite at this year’s picnic – a bike giveaway.

According to VFW member Ralph Tapia, they were giving away 32 bikes this year, with each child that attended receiving a ticket to place on the bike that they wanted a chance to win.

Children and their families enjoyed an afternoon filled with games, fun, food and prizes; offered entirely free thanks to the fundraising efforts of the VFW and the American Legion.
