Tioga Opportunities, Inc. staff supports ‘Longest Day’ fundraiser

Tioga Opportunities, Inc. recently participated in the Alzheimer’s Association’s “Longest Day” fundraiser. To help raise awareness and funds for research and education, staff at the agency paid to dress “Casual for a Cause” on Fridays throughout the month of June.

The Alzheimer’s Association offered an educational presentation, “Know the 10 Signs,” on Friday, June 23 at the Countryside Community Center, which was immediately followed by an ice cream social (with all proceeds donated to the Alzheimer’s Association).

Staff and guests alike enjoyed ice cream that was generously donated by Ice Cream Works (located at 14 George St., Owego). By the end of June, a grand total of $457.00 was raised to support this important cause.

For more information on the Alzheimer’s Association, visit www.alz.org or call the Department of Aging at (607) 687-4120, ext. 331.
