I think we need to keep Judge Boland in for our Village Judge. He save my son’s life a year ago today. We need him in our village! So please think twice. Thank you.

Thinking about earning your diploma? Find Adult Ed. classes in Candor! Summer class starts July 12 from 2 to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Room 112. Hope to see you there! Call BOCES at (607) 257-1561 to register.

Will the person responsible for brutality to the two trees on the Riverwalk next to the Barleycorn deck remove the dry brush pile left there! It is a serious fire hazard! And next time you need tree pruning done please consult a professional tree person. The Lorax.

~

I want to give a pat on the back to the service representative from Scott Smith & Son who helped take care of people’s fuel needs over the July 4 weekend.

~

I want to share with everyone how great my trip to Royal Automotive in Owego was. Everyone was so great on finding a car for me. I changed my mind three times but they just kept finding me better upgrades for my money. They never lost patience with this senior citizen. No question I asked was ever poo pooed. I was there four hours but left very satisfied. Thank you everybody at Kevin Harris’s Royal Automotive in Owego. I highly recommend them.

~

I would like to see the gutters on West Beecher Hill cleaned on both sides of the road. They are both all over grown. Please make sure this gets done. Thank you.

~

To the person or persons who has complaints about a certain gravesite at the Berkshire Cemetery, please call me at 657-8275 so we can talk about it. We weren’t aware the sign we put up would offend people. Our dad was a great fiddle player and we were very proud of him and our mom. Please call me and ask for Martha.

~

With laws against trash and garbage in the road, how do people get away with mowing their lawns into the road? If I crash my bike on that stuff I’m calling a lawyer.

~

If there’s now free tuition in New York, where do I apply to get my retroactive reimbursement?

~

I’m calling from the Apalachin area and I have a hospital bed that’s about two years old. I’d like to give it away free to anyone who would like to move it. My number is 625-3824.

~

Those who have been too cushy for too long shouldn’t be expected to appreciate that.

~

Attention Nichols Highway guys! Roki Boulevard in Nichols needs your attention. Ditches need to be cleaned out and grass needs to be mowed on the side of the road. Please do something about it; it is getting worse every day.

~

The 4th of July parade in Candor was greatly enjoyed. One of the nicest highlights was the flying of the American Flag and one for each branch of the military and one for the POW’s displayed across the Main Street Bridge on both sides. Way to go Candor with thanks to the women and men of the American Legion Post 907 and those in the village and town working on the 4th of July committee.

National Political Viewpoints

Let me see if I have this correct. Total nut jobs like Nancy Pelosi and Al Franken want to declare President Trump mentally unfit for office? Seriously? It’s got to be a joke! President Trump is doing an admirable job of undoing the eight too long years of the Nobama “presidency”, which was a total disaster, and they want to declare President Trump mentally unfit? Where were they when Nobama was in office?

~

Bill Maher: “Looking at the Trump administration is like binge-watching the fall of the Roman Empire while listening to the music of Bennie Hill.”

~

It is so funny how easy Trump can get the liberals goat. He is a master at it! He Tweets, and the snowflakes go aflutter! The best part – there will be seven and a half more years of watching you all, and your blood pressure go crazy!

“Early in my writing career, I took part in a project that required me to peruse more than a thousand nature myths from around the globe. I spent over a year on the work, at various folklore libraries, neck deep in old books and audio recordings. Along the way, it dawned on me that nearly every tale I came across pointed to at least one of three qualities that people — spanning thousands of years — considered essential for living well in the world. The first was community. The second was mystery. The third was beauty.” “A Deeper Boom: The Beginning of the Environmental Movement” — By Gary Ferguson, from Orion Summer 2017

They say you should be careful what you wish for. This is certainly true today. All my life I have dreamed of the time when my Republican Party would be in total control in Washington. That day has come and it is a disaster! We have a President who invents his own reality supported by his own set of facts. We have a congress lacking any real leadership, and totally out of touch with the needs of the American people. Washington today resembles nothing less than a cheap remake of “Animal House”.

~

I wonder at what point the oil companies will come to Congress asking for a bailout?

~

Another contributor complaining about people not accepting Trump. Is that one of the contributors who spent eight years trashing Obama? Sorry Charlie. You reap what you sow.

~

The Supreme Court only partially upheld the travel ban and did not rule on the basic issues. They will hear the case in October. So, put that party hat away for the time being.

~

ISIS was on the run long before Trump was in any position to even influence the effort.

~

I guess those who spit out the term Marxist with contempt are the rich (bourgeoisie) because if they are just the common man (proletariat) they would know that Marx was for taking power from the rich and giving it to the common man.

~

If the person claiming the media didn’t report the FBI investigation of Sanders actually read or watched the major media they would know that it has been covered.

~

Speaking for myself, I am ashamed of the way the Liberals are referring to and treating President Trump. They belittle themselves and ignore the wishes of the voters and taxpayers who voted Mr. Trump into office. They continue to display childish, petulant behavior befitting a spoiled child. I am ashamed to have them as our “Senators”, they surely do not represent me or anyone I know! The PEOPLE’S wishes are the important issue here, NOT what the Liberals want. Represent your CONSTITUENTS, not your own selfish nonsense! They surely need to be voted out in the next election!

~

Claudia Tenney, corrupt or simply stupid. She votes yes to get rid of the ACA and pad her pockets and the pockets of the lobbyist she hangs with. Make no mistake that is what it is about. Did you see her in the Rose Garden giggling like a school girl toasting with Trump about getting rid of the ACA and giving the money to millionaires. She got hers. What did you get?

~

A fresh round of tweets from Fat Donny Two Scoops. Are you embarrassed yet? No? Rube.

~

Ithaca, New York City, Rochester, and Syracuse have defined themselves as Sanctuary cities and are therefore not subject to Federal law. Cuomo follows the breeze. As in the Old South, Democrats took us down this road of nullifying Federal laws in the name of slavery. The result was the Civil War and 600,000 dead. Why are Democrats exempt from changing the law in accordance with democratic process?

~

A few weeks ago somebody called Donald Trump fat Donny two scoops. I think that is very disrespectful. Even if you don’t like Trump you should have respect for the office of the presidency.

~

Talk about liars. Who promised you could keep your old healthcare plan, your old doctor, and each family’s healthcare cost would be decreased by $2,500 per year? Why it was that sly socialist nobama. And who sold fetus parts for profit? Why it was that humanist pinnacle of caring, namely Planned Parenthood. Talk about reprehensible. Give me a break!

~

President Trump is so great; his tweets about the crooked news media are right on. It’s about time they got a taste of their own medicine. Go Donald Trump!

~

I heard that North Korea fired off another missile. Trump will be sure to make them pay for doing that. He’ll also make them pay for the way they treated that young man who died and who was in a coma. The safety of the entire world is at stake and Trump will be the guy to stop them.
