Dorolyn Perry, Americanism Chairperson for the VFW 1371 Auxiliary, holds an award received for 1st place in Division 5 for Americanism. The award was presented to the auxiliary at the State Convention that was held recently in Albany.

President Jean Marie Sabol, Joan Vassil, Doralyn Perry and Louise Cole attended the 92nd Annual convention in Albany, N.Y. on June 9, where the Auxiliary was awarded the Circle of Excellence for participating in the programs of the organization.

They received a 1st place award in the Americanism Program and certificates of appreciation for their participation in Legislative and Membership programs.

The Auxiliary participates in the many programs, and with 204 Auxiliaries statewide the competition to excel in all is challenging.

The auxiliary invites eligible men and women to join them in membership as they strive to assist veterans and their families. The Auxiliary is now gender friendly and is now known as VFW Auxiliary, not the Ladies’s Auxiliary. The newly elected State President is Denise Ellen McHugh from Mahopac, N.Y., who will guide them in the great work of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
