Local authors at Berkshire’s Bluebarry and Book Festival

On Saturday, July 22, the 3rd Annual Berkshire Blueberry and Book Festival will again host a bevy of local authors who write in a wide range of fiction and non-fiction genres. Two of the writers this year will be Carol Henry of Candor and first time festival participant, Therese Walsh.

Therese Walsh is the Editorial Director of Writer Unboxed and the Writer Unboxed Unconference. She is the chief architect of Author in Progress: A No-Holds Guide to What it Really Takes to Get Published, an empowering guide for writers, helping them through the hurdles they’ll face on the way to publishing their book – whether it’s the first or tenth.

Walsh’s ‘The Last Will of Moira Leahy’ was a finalist for a RITA award in the Best First Book category and was a Target Breakout Book nationwide. Her novel ‘The Moon Sisters’ received two starred reviews (Library Journal and Booklist) and was named one of the best books of 2014 by Library Journal.

Carol Henry has taught writing to young students as well as adults. A member of Romance Writers of America since 1984, she is also a member and past president of RWA’s Chapter; the Southern Tier Authors of Romance; Sisters of Crime; and is Co-founder and Chairman of the local Write Now Writers’ group. She writes “Destination Romances-Exotic Romance Suspense Adventures” as well as historical fiction, and holiday and contemporary romance.

A New York State Historian for her hometown, Carol Henry has also written several histories on the town and village of Candor.

Don’t miss this opportunity to meet these, and the other authors, who will be present at the festival planned for July 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will be held, rain or shine, at the Berkshire Free Library, the Berkshire Fire Station, and the Berkshire Community Hall located at the corner of Route 38 and Jewett Hill Road.
