Rabies Clinic to take place at the Apalachin Field Day grounds

On Thursday, June 15 from 6 to 8 p.m., a Rabies Clinic will take place at the Apalachin Field Days grounds located at 9 Field Day Dr. in Apalachin.

New York State Public Health Law requires that all puppies and kittens get their first rabies shot at three months of age. They also need to get a booster shot at one year old and then again every three years. Ferrets must get a shot every year.

Pet owners who fail to maintain current vaccinations may receive a fine of up to $200 per animal. Bring any past rabies shot records, and please keep your pets on a leash or in a carrier.

The clinics are hosted by Tioga County Public Health. You can sign up electronically at www.health.ny.gov/go2clinic/54.
