On June 16, Stone Senate, a 5-piece contemporary Southern Rock band hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, will be at Bill’s Restaurant, located at 53 S. Depot St. in Owego (follow the signs). This performance follows a full night of events and activities taking place in downtown Owego for the annual Strawberry Festival Block Party, and will begin at 10 p.m.

The performance by Stone Senate is open to the community, ages 21 and older, for a $5 cover fee.

The band’s manager, Chris Sauerbrey, who is an Owego Free Academy Alum and former Owego resident, wanted to come back for the Strawberry Festival and is traveling with the band. And although the Strawberry Festival entertainment schedule was filled, Bill’s Restaurant stepped up to accommodate the band.

With a June 17 show scheduled in Ocean City Maryland, it offered Sauerbrey a chance to visit his hometown during his favorite time of year – the Strawberry Festival.

“I’m just happy that I can be home this year,” said Sauerbrey who has attended the festival for many years and has performed in various bands of his own at the festival.

Stone Senate was formed in January 2010 and delivers what they describe as “Groove based Southern Rock”.

With collective musical influences as varied as hard rock, bluegrass, funk, metal and classic country, Stone Senate has often been compared to such classic acts as the Allman Brothers and a heavier Lynyrd Skynyrd with an undeniably original twist.

Early in 2014, Stone Senate signed with manager Erv Woolsey of the Nashville based Erv Woolsey Company and NahPro Entertainment for booking, and has since toured and performed with such acts as Rival Sons, Tantric, BulletBoys, Uli John Roth, Crobot, Charm City Devils, Bible of the Devil, Davisson Brothers Band, Stoney LaRue, Whitey Morgan, Three 6 Mafia, David Lee Murphy, Whiskey Jam Nashville, Billy Falcon, Uncle Kracker and Sunset Sessions ’14.

Stone Senate released their first EP, “1”, in the summer of 2014, introducing them to several rock and active rock radio markets across the U.S. and Europe. The band also released two videos of a trilogy series with Director/Producer Steve Condon and his company, The 10:10 Creative.

The band later entered the studio with producer Kenny Olson (Kid Rock, 7 Day Binge and Kenny Olson Cartel) and cranked out what may well be a modern classic record that was released in late 2016.

Stone Senate has performed all over the U.S. and played over 350 shows since their first tour with the BulletBoys in 2013, and will hit approximately 200 shows, just in 2017. Look for their current single and video for “Martha” and their next single off of “Star City”.

Band members include Clint Woosley (vocals and guitar), Marcus Brown (guitar), James Beau Edwards (guitar and vocals), Paul Zettler (bass and vocals) and David Zettler (drums and vocals).

The band is based out of Nashville, Tenn. To learn more, visit www.stonesenate.com or follow them on Facebook.
